When you need it
When a Resin Driveway Needs Attention
If you're looking up resin driveway repair, you've probably noticed one of a few things: loose stones on the surface, small cracks spreading from a corner, patches that have darkened or yellowed, or edges breaking away by the lawn. The first question is always the same: is it the surface, or is it the base?
Surface problems, such as a small area that's worn, a few loose stones or a crack along an edge, can usually be cut out and patched with a closely matched mix. Problems that come up from below, such as sinking, widespread cracking or water that won't drain, mean the base has failed, and a patch will only hide it for a while. We'll show you what we find and explain the options before you spend anything.

What's included
What's Included in Our Repair Work
Patch repairs
Damaged areas cut out cleanly and relaid with a blend matched as closely as possible to your existing drive.
Loose-stone re-bonding
Where the surface is starting to shed stones, we assess whether it can be re-bonded or needs relaying.
Crack and edge repairs
Cracks and crumbling edges repaired, with new edging fitted where the old edge has failed.
Resin over sound tarmac or concrete
An old drive that's solid underneath can be cleaned, repaired and overlaid with a fresh resin bound surface.
Full relay when needed
If the base has failed, we'll say so, and quote to dig out and relay it properly rather than patch over the problem.
Common problems
Common Resin Driveway Problems (and Why They Happen)
Most resin driveway problems come down to a handful of causes. Cracking usually means the base underneath has moved, or the resin was laid over a surface that was already cracked. Loose stones often point to a mix that was too thin, aggregate that wasn't fully dry, or rain during the cure. Yellowing or darkening is typical of non-UV-stable resin used on a sunny drive. Puddling happens when resin is laid over solid tarmac or concrete without enough fall. Knowing the cause tells us whether a repair will last.

FAQs
Repair & Resurfacing FAQs
Can you repair another company's resin driveway?
Usually, yes. We'll assess it first, and if the original base or resin isn't up to it, we'll tell you before recommending a repair that won't last.
Why is my resin driveway losing stones?
The most common causes are a mix that was laid too thin, damp aggregate, too little resin in the mix, or rain during curing. Small areas can often be repaired; widespread loss usually means relaying.
Can resin go over tarmac?
Yes, if the tarmac is sound, stable and not breaking up. We clean it, repair any small defects and prime it before laying the resin. Bear in mind that solid tarmac isn't permeable, so we plan the falls so water runs off properly.
